The interior has ample natural lighting because of the glass ceiling central to the building. The bar has plenty of seating to enjoy a meal and your favorite cocktail. They open daily at 11 in the morning.

Barbara Jeans–

Smack dab in the center of Mallery Street is Barbara Jeans. To truly experience the taste of the south, Barbara Jeans is the place to be. 

This joint is highly rated and has a long reputation since it was opened all the way back in 1988.  They offer both local fresh catch and home-style cooking. Barbara Jeans opens every day at eleven in the morning. 

Because of the wide variety of food, you’ll likely find yourself back in the restaurant to sample more of its offerings. While you’re here, try out the crab cakes they are famous for. 

The Crab Trap–

Located just outside of the village is a historic dining establishment that is a favorite of both visitors and residents. The restaurant is owned by the original family, who opened it back in 1975. 

The Crab Trap is considered one of the most fun dining experiences on the island. Open daily at 5 PM come in for some of the freshest shrimp and oysters around. It’s fun because after you indulge in those shrimp and oysters, simply drop the shells in the bucket built right into the center of the table.

Gnats Landing–

Just a short drive away from Mallery Street in Redfern Village is Gnats Landing. This restaurant has an appearance of being an old rustic shack. Don’t let it fool you; the food and drinks are phenomenal.  

Gnats Landing has called Redfern Village home for over 15 years. Come enjoy live music in the covered open-air patio. For the beer connoisseur, the restaurant has 11 rotating taps to enjoy some local favorites. 

Open every day at 11:30; come in for lunch or dinner. For the late nighter, most nights, you can hang around until well after midnight. It’s located at 310 Redfern Village.
