Situated just twenty-five minutes from downtown Savannah is an island called Skidaway. Skidaway Island is slightly under 18 square miles and offers gorgeous coastal views, wildlife, and an impressive community. The Georgia coast is known for mild winters, but it also has distinct seasons. Because of this, many northern residents migrate to this region. Importantly, for the boater, Skidaway Island offers a considerable amount of marinas for an island limited in size. What is the best boating community in coastal Georgia?

The Landings: Skidaway Island Georgia

The largest community on Skidaway is The Landings. The Landings is a premier gated community with two marinas, six golf courses, offering homes of varying price ranges. Measuring at over 4,500 acres and 4,400 lots, you have plenty of space to sprawl out. While the island does consist of roadways, The Landings offers nearly 30 miles of paths for biking, walking, and yes, driving your golf cart. Many residents rarely have to leave as the Village provides a Publix grocery store that includes golf cart parking spaces.

For the boater, enjoy two deep water Savannah marinas situated on both the north and south end of The Landings. Remember, at the northern end is the Landings Harbor Marina. Lastly, Delegal Creek Marina is positioned at the southern end.
